40 days to a Joy filled life

So now I will restart to read this book by Tommy Newberry, "40 days to a Joy-filled life". I bought this book probably over a year ago, starting readong but did not finish it. I can't remember in what day I stopped. It s a self help book duh hehe, with the idea that you should just read one chapter at a t9me for 40 days. Accorsing to the author, the book is written to help the reader put the 4:8 principle into practice in your everyday life... for the rest of your life.
The 4:8 principle, still according to the author is based on Philippians 4:8 that states that whatever you give your attention to expamds in your experience. If you dwell on your strengths, your blessings, your goals and all the people who love you, then you will attract even more blessings even more love and even more accomplishments. Hmm.. seems a lot like "The Secret".

So now as I try to navigate this 40 days journey, I will try to post everyday, my key take aways for each chapter.
So for Day 1 (Dec 26 2018)
- Joy does not depend on outer conditions of your material life but rather on the inner

condition of your mental life.
-Joy is the result of something strikingly simple, thought not necessarily easy, consistently thinking of joy producing thoughts
-Think about what you want and not what you don't want
-Release the need to hang on thoughts that haven't worked well for you

That's it! Let's see again tomorrow.

A year has passed

Whew! So it has been more than a year already from my last original post. So many things have happened in the last year that everything seems a blur now lol.

Some important things I have learned in the past year:

- pathological liars can be anyone and is not necessarily a criminal. She can be a colleague who is uber friendly to everyone and can change face faster than a chameleon. And they don't care if you caught them lying right on their face. They could be the best poker players in the world.

- some people love attention more than respect

- in this day and age there are still women who act independent but are actually still damsels in distress waiting for their knight in shining armor

- people can be so apathetic that even if it affects their subordinates or colleagues but if its does not affect them in any way, they would not care

- some people seem to have everything (on the outside) but can still be depressed and do suicide

Day 17

Feom 40 days to a Joy filled life by Tommy Newberry - We do all sorts of silly things that fuel our negative emotions. As a result, we end...
